One of the final mixed games events of the Summer came to a close with Sweden’s Jerry Odeen claiming the title and $304,793. Odeen had to not only work through two games of alternating No-Limit Hold’em and Pot-Limit Omaha, but also the 1,250 entry field which contained multiple notables with the likes of Greg RaymerVivian SalibaChris FergusonAri Engel, Jonathan Little, and Craig Varnell. Odeen only arrived in Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago but will be leaving town with a bracelet on his wrist and a dream of WSOP glory fulfilled.

Event #83: $100,000 High Roller

The event that drew much of the attention yesterday was certainly the $100,000 high roller final table with a notable pro occupying every seat. The day saw many stacks rise and fall, but when the dust settled it was Keith Tilston emerging at the top of the 99 player field for a whopping $2,792,406 after defeating Daniel Negreanu heads up. Negreanu entered the day with the shortest stack of the remaining six players but was able to find 5 double ups in order to play heads-up for his sixth bracelet for the second time this Summer. The key hand which ending up denying him that privilege was catching a nine high flush under Tilton’s ten high flush for most of his chips and was unable to recover. The highest buy-in event of the Summer saw the top three places all pay out over a million dollars. Notable pro and poker commentator Nick Schulman locked up a third-place finish with Igor Kurganov busting just prior to him in fourth. It was no surprise to have Germany once again making its presence felt on the high roller scene with Dominik Nitsche final tabling for 6th place and Steffen Sontheimer just missing out on doing so as well, busting in 11th.

Event #84: The Closer – $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em

Yesterday saw poker pro-Shaun Deeb bag the chip lead as 724 entries in the second of three starting flights brought the event’s total to 1,187. Despite bagging an impressive stack of over 1.1 million chips from the 25,000 starting stack, Deeb still finds himself chasing flight 1a Chipleader Roman Korenev. Today will mark the third and final starting flight of this event as players will look to get into one of the final chances of WSOP gold left this Summer.

Shaun Deeb bagged the chip lead for the second flight.

Event #85: $3,000 Pot-Limit Omaha 6-Handed

Just 24 players remain out of the original field of 835 entrants and play is scheduled to condense down to the final table of six today. Defeating a record field of 6,246 entries was James Anderson who took home his very first bracelet along with a $690,686 first place prize. Fernando Karam battled Anderson heads up but was denied his third bracelet of the Summer in the end. Event #78: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Bounty

Vegas first-timer Maximilian Klostermeier claimed his first bracelet yesterday walking away a score of $177,823 in addition to all of the $500 bounties he collected for eliminating some of the 1,130 entries. Event #81: $1,500 Bracelet Winners Only Event

In the only event of the Summer that was guaranteed to see someone add to their bracelet collection, Shankar Pillai took it down for $71,580. Pillai defeated a stacked field of 185 entries on his way to donning his second bracelet. It had been a gap of over a decade since his first bracelet win back in 2007 in a $3,000 No Limit Hold’Em event. This was a first-time event at the World Series this year and drew one of the smaller fields of the Summer, however, when everyone in the tournament has already won before the path to victory is certainly much more challenging.

Event #79: $3,000 No-Limit Hold’em

Ivan Deyra saw himself hit multiple milestones of his poker career as he not only took home his first WSOP gold bracelet and $380,090 but also surpassed the one million dollar mark in tournament earnings. Deyra had to go through 671 entries in order to achieve his life long dream of owning a bracelet, eventually defeating David Gonzalez heads up who had the misfortune to bluff for all his chips when Deyra held a full house.

Event #83: $100,000 High Roller

Ayaz Mahmood bagged the chip lead and is aiming for his second bracelet in addition to the $304,793 prize. A large field of 1,250 entries required extending this tournament an extra day as now only 7 remain to play for the bracelet. One of the notables in the field David “ODB” Baker who already claimed a bracelet this summer saw his final table hopes crushed as he exited in tenth place.

Event 84: $1,500 The Closer No-Limit Hold’em

Day 1a of the three starting flights yesterday drew to a close with online poker pro-Roman Korenev bagging the chip-lead. 463 entries in the starting flight show signs of yet another large field as the two remaining flights are expected to draw even larger numbers. Two-time bracelet winner Keith LehrAnton MorgensternMartin Zamani, bracelet winner David Williams, and bracelet winner Leif Force all were able to bag healthy stacks and will look to build upon them today.

Event #73: $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em MAIN EVENT – World Championship

The main event is officially down to the final table as nine players remain of the 8,569. In addition to a million dollars, the players have also earned a day off today before play resumes tomorrow. Hossein Ensan holds a massive chip lead on the table of 177 big blinds well over Gary Gates also healthy stack of 99 big blinds. Despite the big stacks, the most feared player at the table might be poker pro-Dario Sammartino. He has already amassed over eight million dollars in tournament winnings and is one player the others certainly don’t want to see gain any steam off his 33 big blind stack. Sammartino got involved in a sticky situation with 11 players left when he faced a shove Nick Marchington. After asking for a count of what he thought was a little more than 20 big blinds he made the call. However, the dealer had miscounted and the shove was for much closer to 30 big blinds. The floor ruled Sammartino was committed to call off the full amount and his tens failed to improve against Marchington’s queens.

The action on day 44 was hot and heavy as we saw four tournaments play down to their final tables and the main event carried into day 7 in addition to the latest bracelet being awarded:

Women have been making their mark on this World Series, and that continued yesterday as Tu Dao defeated Alain Alinat heads up for her first WSOP bracelet and a nice $133,189 payday. Dao is the second woman this summer to conquer an open event. A couple of notables such as Greg Mueller and Daniel Zack came up short in adding to their bracelet busting on day 2. Dao had already sniffed a bracelet earlier this Summer, finishing in fourth in the $1,000 ladies event and was able to see this one through to the end.

Event #75: $1,000+111 Little One for One Drop No-Limit Hold’em

This popular unlimited re-entry event was scheduled to finish yesterday, however with the record-breaking field topping 6,000 runners; tournament staff made the decision to extend it one more day. Fernando Karam leads the final 5 players who will restart at noon today holding a sizeable chip lead nearly double that of the next closest stack. In addition to the WSOP gold, the players will be playing for $690,686.

Fernando Kram leads the final five players

Event #78: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Bounty

This is another event that was supposed to come to a conclusion yesterday and had an extra day tacked on by tournament staff. This event’s bracelet will surely find an owner by the end of the day as only seven return to fight for it and the $177,823 top prize. Players have also already collected several of the $500 bounties earned for each elimination. Maximilian Klostermeier has a controlling grip on the chip lead bringing in a stack today that is more than his next two closest opponents combined. Klostermeier had a meager $3,000 in tournament earnings before this event and could have already well surpassed that in bounties alone.

Maximilian Klostermeier leads the final seven players.

Event #79: $3,000 No-Limit Hold’em

Players did not have to play a very long day as they simply played down from 14 players to the final six before play stopped. David Gonzalez leads the last six players who eye the bracelet and the $380,090 prize for first. One of the more surprising bustouts from yesterday was Andras Nemeth who came into the day with the chip lead but didn’t see pots go his way as he hit the rail in seventh.

Event #80: $1,500 Mixed No-Limit Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha

The event which switches games from No-Limit Hold’em to Pot Limit Omaha played down to 47 players from the original 1,290 who started. Francis Rusnak is currently in the best shape to close out his bracelet dreams. Rusnak has amassed over two million in tournament earnings and several WSOP final table appearances but none of those cashes has come with a bracelet alongside it. Several bracelet winners are also still in the hunt including two-time winner Steve SungAyaz Mahmood, two-time winner David “ODB” Baker, and Ankush Mandavia.

Event #81: $1,500 50th Annual Bracelet Winners Only No-Limit Hold’em

While some tournaments have had a day added to them, this one has had one taken away. Originally scheduled as a four-day event, today on day three the final eight players will compete for the WSOP bracelet along with the $71,580 that awaits the first place finisher. Tommy Nguyen has built his stack to lead the final eight players coming into today. Nguyen won his bracelet in 2018 shipping the $1,500 monster stack for over a million of his 1.7 million tournament earnings to date.

Tommy Nguyen holds the chip lead with 8 remaining

Event #82: $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em Double Stack

World Series of extending tournaments continues as this original two-day event will almost certainly see a third day added to it as 357 players found a bag and their bracelet dreams alive at the end of yesterday. Topping all of the stacks is WSOP bracelet winner Mike Leah. Some other notables who chase him include Justin Harvell and former WSOP main event champion Greg Raymer. Over half a million dollar top prize of $530,464 will be paired with the bracelet for this event’s champion.

Mike Leah bags day 1 chip lead

Event #83: $100,000 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller

This six-figure buy-in event attracted 93 players yesterday, and that number has the potential to grow as registration remains open until the start of day 2 today. Over half the field bagged in the slow structured tournament with 50 players returning today. Among them, Brandon Adams holds the chip lead followed closely by Byron Kaverman. This is a notable stacked event as one would expect with the hefty buy-in including Ali Imsirovic, bracelet winner Bryn Kenney, and Steffen Sontheimer.

Brandon Adams bags day 1 chip lead

Event #73: $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em MAIN EVENT – World Championship

The excitement builds with each day as the payouts in the main event start to work towards hefty sums. Players played down to just four tables yesterday with 35 of them bagging chips and a main-event final table dream. The plan today is for players to play down to the dream for the final table of nine. The players will then have earned a day off for rest and interviews before returning to play out for the final three days of this prestigious event. Yuri Dzivielevski is the sole bracelet winner left among the bunch as notables Antonio Esfandiari, Sam Greenwood, and Alex Foxen all saw their main event run come to a close yesterday. Yuri Dzivielevski holds the chip-lead and this summer has already been a massive success regardless as his Hendon mob page was blank at the beginning of the Summer. It now holds one cash for $12,415 for taking 19th in the $800 deep stack event and has secured a payout in the main of $261,430.

Nicholas Marchington leads the final 35 players.
